It's Been Quite a Journey
Life is full of adventures- as we all know. But sometimes I wish my journey through life was just a little more peaceful! Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be married and have children. And thankfully the lord has blessed me with 5 children, ages ranging from 22 to 14. All of my children have been so unique. My oldest daughter who is now 18 is my "high maintenance" child. She was a lot of work from the moment she was born. She cried all of the time, and has raised holy heck since then. I knew she was difficult but I always just thought it would get better as she "matured". My three older boys were different, however. And as they grew..the differences from their personalities to hers became more apparent. As they grew and learned to play harmoniously together, she always found a way to break up the peace by hitting, yelling, or just do about anything to get them mad. By the time she was 4 years old, I gave birth to my last child, our beautiful baby girl. She was so calm thankfully. God knew that I needed some calm in the storm. But that only worsened her symptoms. She grew jealous and more angry, even though I desperately tried to give her ample positive time. By the time she was 8, and after many doctor trips, we went to a neuropsychologist who evaluated her. He concluded that she had ADHD, bipolar, and ODD. We definitely New something was off, but that was hard to digest at first. My goal was to help her and find as much help so she could grow the best peaceful way she could. We have been to psychologists, psychiatrists, neurofeedback sessions, nutritionists, and just about any professional that could help her and truly none have helped! I feel like a prisoner to my daughters emotional ups and downs. I can't even leave town for a few hours when she is in her heightened anxious mood, otherwise I am receiving phone calls from her and she is yelling at me, blaming me, telling me that I want her dead...completely trying to take me down. I am so exhausted from from her emotional blow outs.
