Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) Support Group
Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) an ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile, and defiant behavior toward authority figures that goes beyond the bounds of normal childhood behavior. When a child cannot seem to control his anger or frustration, even over what seems to be trivial or simple to others, the child will often react in violent or negative ways to his own...
A really bad bunch of weeks..

MY son is 11 and dignosed with both add/odd. The last several weeks have been some of the worst that Ive had to deal with ever probably because I can't get over one thing before the next thing happens. He took to running away from home several weeks ago once or twice a week, sometimes showing up at school the next day or sometimes home in 2 days, super stressful for me not to know were my 11 year old is in the middle of the night, one weekend even found me making and hanging up or at least attempting to hang up missing posters around myneightborhood, only to find out that the vast majority of large stores who of course get the most traffic have regulations against hanging anything up in public view. In between the running away the calls from the school kept coming (unfortunately this part is all too familiar as it has been an ongoing issue since kindergarten) he's cursing out the teacher (s), he refuses to go to class, he refuses to do work, he left campus, he kicked a hole in the wall ( which I get to pay for and when I asked him about if he says "it was an old wall anyway") oh and my personal favorite he took a swing at the principal and needed to be escorted off school premises by by school police. He recently got caught stealing at our main local store- cand and lighters?--I refused to go get him thinking maybe they would transport him down to juvie like store security said the police would if I couldn't come get him- what did the police do? Pick him up and drop him off on my front porch while I'm at work 30 miles away..I'm a single mom , nobody was home, not only that but they didn't even write up a case number. When the second week of running away started I filed a youth at risk petition for him to try to get some help from the courts to get him under control, this has been a lot of run around as well, we actually went briefly before the judge which my son obviously didn't give a damn about, I would have been scared to death to find myself in front of a judge at any age let alone 11, not him, but he was smart enough to dress the part and put on a dress shirt and tie and a phony compliant attitude, which all dissappeared once we left the building "now you behave and do what your mom says" before continuing our case for two weeks. Natually he promptly dissappeared again on me for two days that day not bothering to come home from school. Finally in my last ditch effeort to try to get him "scared straight" I put him in a shelter for youth by a group that runs his anger management group last Saturday and told him he would be there for at least the next two weeks so he could work pn getting himself back on track and break out of some of these bad habits..tonight on my way to work I get a call from the shelter saying they are basically kicking him out for threatening staff and other residents, breaking things and refusing to follow directions...so frustrated. This two weeks was supposed to give both me a chance to regroup and come back with something more to give to this fight to save my son from himself. Not gonna happen. I think his next move is to his dad, who doesn't have any real interest in rearing him and helping him work through this, his interest is in the welfare check he found out he would get if my son stayed with him ( I don't understand how the system works-Ive always worked and suported my son provided him with full medical and dental, while daddy deadbeat hasn't sent a check in forever and currently owes me over $40,000 in back support, yet they will garnish my check to pay him). Weird. I'm really glad I have someplace to vent. My son has been seeing therapists, psychologists and counselors for years, as a matter of fact we had one that has been coming to our home over the last few weeks and he attends anger management group for boys weekly, none of this has helped nor has his medication and he has been on several of them over the last several years as well. INo where else to go from here. At least at his dads he has enough fear/respect not to even think about pulling the crap he is at my house..at least for a while. We are supposed to go back to court next week to follow up on the at risk youth petition I filed against hime but seeing how it didn't change anything when we went the first time, I have no faith it would change anything this time
My son went to an inpatient psych place twice a week at a time at 6 years old.
Maybe call Covenant House, see how the help kids, what resources do they use? Maybe keep calling the police (they have to record all calls - good record of your efforts for later) tell them he's physically abusive, get a video of him being beligerant, ask others to video all places he might be to show non partial threatening (to you, to them to any authority figure, or person he doesn't like.
Study you local laws, find out what the requirements of a "juvie" "inpatient" would be, if all else fails, call the Civil Persecution Service (find acronym - to evil to say) they LOVE taking kids away and drugging them into zombies.
I tried to reach out recently (not on here), but as usual, no one responded.
