Hi

Can anyone recommend any good (and reasonably priced) books as an introduction to philosophy? I want to do a course but dont have the funds right now so would like to start a bit of learning myself.

I have to think about that one. Do you want to take a course like a 101? I'll take a look around here and see what I have, I know much of it is dry :(

There are so many spin off groups here I bet there's one that has to do with a concept of philophy.
In the mean time, I'll see what I have and what we have at the teachers resource library (yup, even though I'm in an elementary school!!) I'll talk to you soon. kim

Since the early 70's, I've read about Near Death Experiences (NDE). I'm now reading about the afterlife.

All the books I've read, I was able to get at the library.They're all full of philosophy & how we should live our lives.

If this is what you're wanting to know & if you can be kind of specific, I have all kinds of book titles.

Geez it's been awhile I'm sorry I forgot.

I don't have the exact name of the books, but. Nitze and, Emmanuel Konte were two good philosophers. "Practical Ethics" by Singer is in my house somewhere, that was good. I remember some of Jung and that's all I can get out of my brain.

Tell me if any of it was good?

'The Prophet' by Kahlil Gibran is excellent.

One of the best books I've read on Spirituality is, 'G-d on a Harley' by Joan Brady.

once you get your list together...get a library card....if you already have one, you can probably go online and check out either audiobooks or e-books.....it's a great way to do some reading without having to make a purchase (until you are ready any way)

Nicki I have an intro to phil book from college you can have if you send me a private message with an address or a PO Box. I finished the class so long ago but I hold onto things. Its a mildly decent read but its definitly a college book and more for informative purposes than entertainment.
