Lucky! I almost always have nightmares, I'd love to be able to control my dream :)

I tired to develop this years and years ago after reading Carlos Castanedas work. In one of his books he stated that looking for ones hands in a dream is the first step toward lucid dreaming. That made a lot of sense to me because I believe we are particularly aware of our hands as they are our primary resource for gaining tactile information and when we are dreaming the sensations that we would normally expect to receive from our hands when we consciously focus on them would be altered and thereby alert us to a state of altered reality. I think I shied off trying to develop this because I wondered about whether or not there would be repercussions in waking reality. I guess it brought up the question of whether non-consensus reality is any less real than consensus reality. At the time that edge seemed too perilous to me. Does anyone know about australian aboriginal beliefs about "dream time" and if/how it relates to lucid dreaming?

I have, but I can't gain control over the dream. The most I can do is hop from dream to dream. It's a really bizzare thing.

i used to have these all the time...haven't had one in a while, and i miss them!

I've had a lot of lucid dreams. Used to be more often when I was younger, but still now a couple times a year I do still have 'em.

If it's a scary dream, I tell all the other people in it, that all they have to do is open their eyes! LOL...

I don't have nightmares either...nothing to horrible anyway. ...and I always wake myself up immediately if it gets bad.

I have control in most of my dreams (and consciously control the actions that I will take); Depending on the kind of dream it is. The one's I don't have control of are the one's where the subconscious is trying to tell me something- Like I have to wake up to take a piss.:)
Before I go to sleep, I decide what kind of dream I want- like hanging out on a deserted tropical island, adventure- like a James Bond type,etc.
But some of the coolest ones that I have are the one's where I am visited by someone I don't know and they bring me to a place that I've never seen before to show me something and we just talk to each other.

Ya know i don't remember dreams unless they bad, so i can't tell you what i dream about.. wish i could just have any dream....

I wish I could do this-I have Lucid Dreams, where I am aware that I am dreaming and I cannot control my actions. Will TRY to wake up, will dream I am putting my head under water and I cannot wake up. VERY frustrating

I have always had lucid dreams .......and always dreamed in colour and sound .....so sometimes is is hard to ..get that it was a dream and not real .........in the morning ........ex ......ever so often I would get up and be upset with my husband ...untill he could get out of me why I was upset and than ....he would tell me I was dreaming that and than I could see ware .......there was just that ....bit enough to let me know it had to be a dream .......I also answer the phone in my sleep and talk in my sleep .....and ex one day we had a friend and they thought they woke me up ...my eyes were open I sat up and they asked me if I wanted to go to towen with them and I said I was to tired I was just going to go to sleep ........well by the time they got back I was not to happy with them not only did they leave me at home but never left a note and dident come back till 2 ......so when they came back .....and told me that they thought I was awake and I hade said I dident want to go ....I had to belive my husband ....because he was this other person telling me the same thing .........lol ..
