Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
And I'll tell you, as soon as I have insurance again I'm getting right back on it! My anxiety and ocd are so so out of control without treatment, it's mindblowing.
Being off of Zoloft is a huge slap-in-the-face kind of reminder how much it helped me.
I think that it took me 4 or 5 weeks before it started really kicking in.
If you do have to stop taking it, get off of the medication SLOWLY.
I really think it will help you a lot, I honestly do. You just have to be patient. It's definitely worth trying it out no matter how anxious you are about it. I'm talking like total 180....
Good Luck!!!!
P.S. I think I was only taking 25mg to start and ended up at 75mg which isnt a whole lot but it helped a great deal!
Average dose, from what I've heard is 100-200mg/day
