Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

first of all,i don't know how eloquent i will be able to be here,as i've been up since before 4 AM,but i just wanted to reply to you,as i can relate to your struggle and your feelings.....
i as well have had horrible episodes of harm ocd,and even though part of my mind knows i did not hurt anyone, there has always been that all consuming,"but, what if?what if?"
i have a wonderful therapist who walks me through those "what ifs",but at times my ocd has been so overpowering that his saying,"they are just thoughts" wasn't very comforting....
yet, now, even when i struggle with this or other aspects of how my ocd manifests,i do try and remember that....and let go of the guilt i feel for things i have never done nor would i ever do.....
that is one thing harm ocd will do to you....make you think of things you question having done or will do that are so far outside your true character it is so terribly distressing, and yes, exhausting, and take time to accept as an illness that isn't your fault...
please know there is hope though...i'm doing better than i ever have, having finally found the right meds, and a really helpful therapist....
i suppose i've not helped you much here, and i'm sorry for that... i just wanted to let you know i have heard you and can relate and i hope, like me,your medication and therapy will ultimately help you...
