Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

once you have control of your breathing and thoughts, it's easier for me to relax the hands and body and sleep. staying asleep has always been an issue for me, still working on that.
as for the ocd harming, don't be impulsive. if a thought or reaction occurs try putting it on hold for 7 minutes. think on other things, brush your teeth, do some situps, or practice the mindful breathing, it can be euphoric. if it doesn't work that's okay, don't give up and keeping finding ways to improve.
