Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
It's very important if possible to work little by little on reducing your compulsions. Working with a therapist to setup a hierarchy(from lowest to highest anxiety producing) and then doing the assignments is important.
I realize it isn't easy but I learned through my first pass of treatment you have to experience some anxiety to get better. I am not looking forward to my homework, especially the egg one.
