Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

i have intrusive thoughts of harming myself horribly as well...they are very upsetting,i know i would never act upon them, but i wish they would not be in my head...over and over,so i can relate....
Try to tell yourself these are just thoughts,OCD thoughts, and you will never act upon them....
i so know how hard it is though, and how hard it is to be so alone with them....
i am glad you have a therapist....until you get to see your therapist,do really try to fight the thoughts with telling yourself it is just your OCD.
i know how hard it is.believe me....
i'm sorry,i know i haven't been of great comfort to you,but i wanted you to know,in the least of things, that you are not alone....
Take Good Care, and try your best to distract yourself in any way you can.
Again, please know you are not alone, you are not the only one suffering with this horrid kind of OCD....
(((((( hugs ))))))
i should have added that if you really do feel like you are going to lose control, you need to call a crisis line,or go to the ER.
Please Stay Safe.
i explained all this to them, and that i have OCD,and that these were OCD thoughts that i had no intention of acting upon, but that i was scared.
i guess i just reached a point of desperation, and realized i needed help.
that is when you must reach out.
it can be really helpful to talk to someone, especially when your therapist isn't available.
i don't know if i have answered your question.....for me,with my thoughts,i have NEVER wanted to act upon them, but sometimes they became so so intrusive and upsetting i just HAD to talk to someone.
i just don't want you to suffer, and i want you to stay safe.
