Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
Sorry to hear about what you are going through, it sounds like the obsessive thinking is quite consuming for you right now. Are you speaking to a healthcare professional at all? I find talking through with someone experienced with OCD really helps to distinguish between my own thoughts and the warped thoughts brought on by my condition. I know that my own intrusive thoughts altered my relationship with my dad for a long time, and I wish I had addressed it sooner so that I wouldn't have had to go through that time where I felt uncomfortable even hugging my dad. If you find yourself getting caught up in obsessive thinking about people is there anything that you find that distracts you or that you find calming? We all have flaws, make mistakes, do good and bad things, have ups and downs in relationships, and I think its pretty normal to think about these things, but if you are finding it hard to differentiate between what is real and not real and you are feeling isolated do you think you may be able to seek some support in challenging this thinking? I overanalyse these types of things all the time, I am currently seeing a clinical psychologist which is helping and I find staying busy and spending time with animals etc helps to distract my mind. And I have also worried about being isolated from people because of OCD but ive realised people are a lot more understanding and accepting than I thought. you can get though this, keep sharing. sending healing thoughts
