Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
Please bear in mind that I'm no specialist on the issue, but I have been consulting a specialist for almost a year on the very topic of false memories.
This will sound harsh, but need to be accepted if you're to get better: the thoughts don't matter. They're not real. Your mind is making a suggestion, and your reaction is to grab hold of it. It's normal that you feel distressed, but in the end, realise that you're questioning yourself about whether or not you were questioning yourself.
It's hard to explain all of it in a short post, but you have to let go of your thoughts. Try looking up "willingness" and "OCD" together. You'll find very interesting texts that, I hope, will help you letting go. Don't get me wrong; it's not easy. But it becomes easier.
You're not alone. You will get better.
