Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
Children are the most precious vulnerable humans and they aren't objects to be messed with. Nor do they deserve to have their lives destroyed by predators. The fact that you are having these intrusive thoughts and are worried about them shows that you know its wrong and you're a very good person for not following through. If you are EVER tempted I think you should seek professional help before your break the law. Think strongly on the fact that adults should be defenders and protectors of kids who need to be kept safe from bad guys.
Its healthy to experience guilt if we have done something wrong. As long as there is guilt, there is a sense of morality.
I have dealt with POCD for a long time and it started when I was a counselor at a summer camp.
I love kids and never want to hurt them nor am I attracted to them but i started having intrusive thoughts that in my sleep while i was unconscious i would molest them. It was so severe I wouldn't sleep at night. Once I found out about pure O, ocd and found that other people deal with this, it made me feel a little bit better.
I worked with my therapist and it went away a bit, I went on medicine and that also helped. But now I am off medicine and the thoughts and obsessions are going back.
Just remember that the fact you are disgusted with the intrusive thoughts means you don't want to do it nor have you before.
