Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

Plus my medicine. I remember being told to only check one or twice when worrying if I left the oven on or didn't lock the car. It felt awful at first. But got better in time. Talk to your therapist about coping skills.
The journals are important, and things can happen. So maybe the solution is not calling yourself OCD but figuring a way to back up, make a copy of most or all, or scan them in, What would happen if you took the 45 minutes a day on worry, and spent that time either copying or scanning your journals in. Once you have a duplicate, you should be able to answer yourself that you have addressed the possibility of loss.
