Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
The only thing I can say is my OCD symptoms DO seem to be getting worse (checking has gotten worse, inability to leave house, etc), however, this is just me guessing after the fact.
Saw my pdoc today. She actually thought Neurontin should help with OCD, however, meds do vary person to person. I would trust how I personally felt in regard to any med and how it was making me feel. I would definitely see if there was another med you could try beside Neurontin to get the same effect you desire.
Did you recently go off an anti-depressant? Not that I know what I am talking about. lol. Glad you have an open conversation going with your dr.
