Hello to you all. How I find this site is just a miracle. I am at a state of shock right now. I just found out, or better yet my husband just told me that he is suffering from OCD...or OCPD...one of the two...but I for sure think it's the later. We were a couple for 7 years and we just got married 5 month ago. Saying he is a man of my dreams is an under statement. He treats me like a princess. I have never witnessed during those 7 years anything weird on him. We lived together two years and he never obsesses about anything like cleaning etc...but he is a workaholic...he said he is suffering from it himself and that he has thoughts like counting tiles etc...and he is not always but thinks negative on certain issues but nothing much. Now recently he has extreme pressure and I was mad at him as certain things were not going as we planned ( like I was supposed to join him to a country where he is now working) but he postpones it and that caused our spat) he has a problem with sharing his emotions and he takes his time but we always find a way but this time he stops texting me, or calling for days and weeks...he doesn't pick up or answer to my texts...he said in a nutshell that he is 'Trying to find himself' and that he is okay. And that I'm an amazing woman...I do to know what to do as this is very new of him...I text him everyday saying everything will be fine and that I love and miss him. I don't know what else to do...shall I book a flight and go to him? Or wait it out hoping it will pass? I don't know really. He was a man who tells me that he loves and misses me everyday and night. Now it seems he is really caving in and I think he might be hurting himself. It's all new for me and may be I should have been supportive asa he told me but I tried it was a shock as we were newlyweds...he has a work pressure and his thoughts combined with my complaining, I think it push him to the edge. Pls help me....what should I do.

Some would say we all have our inner wisdom and the struggle really is to tap into it when making our decisions. Best of luck.

He needs help and therapy. I would tell him that you'll go with him to talk to someone or find a medicine that works. Stress increases OCD symptoms and in turn, OCD symptoms provide even more stress than before. He's probably living in a nightmare. I would know, I've suffered from OCD since I was a little girl. Try to give him hope.

OCD and relationships can be stressful. My wife is an especially kind person. I would separate his OCD from his love for you. I have had intense OCD symptoms, but they did not estrange me from my spouse. Usually when I am suffering from OCD I want more attention from m y spouse not less. Sounds like he is. Under a lot of stress. Maybe you both should go on a vacation. He should get therapy because OCD is hard to beat if it is new to him and he does not know how to tackle OCD.
