Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
Loosing my mind. (( Kinda long))

My OCD has yet found something new to obsess over, besides strokes and schizophrenia. This time i am obsessing over A guy.
So, i met this guy about almost 2 weeks ago, it was all going great and everything, until i went on his facebook page and saw that another girl posted on his wall on there about adoring his art work (he's an artist) and this concert they went to and stuff... and ever sense then, my mind hasn't stopped analyzing it. He has already told me he likes me and that im nice and have a great personality and stuff, and ive seen him twice since the day i met him...
As a matter of fact, I saw him today. At first everything was great, and then all of the sudden something just felt off. My mind was going over and over about if he liked me, while i was with him.. Ever since then, I have been in a OCD episode about whether he likes me or not, even though he ALREADY told me he DOES!!
I don't want to ask him again if he likes me because, i don't want to push him away. Doing that would not help me, because, i actually like him.
Another thing is my OCD is trying to convince me that i don't like him anymore, which is completely false, because i actually do, but it's making me doubt that i even like him!!
I posted on his wall tonight that i liked him, and he never responded. But responded to that other girl the other day.
My OCD is extremely bad right now with the thoughts that he doesn't like me, even though he's told me MULTIPLE times he does!!!
This OCD episode is terrible, and i am not sure what to do... I am about ready to pull my hair out over this....my anxiety is through the roof.....
Sorry for the length of this.

Try to remember that he's lucky to be in your life and try to distract yourself with other things. I know it's hard... : )

You're right that you shouldn't ask him again. Let it be! It's tough, but you can do it. The first step for me with OCD was taking responsibility for what it "made" me do. Sooo hard! You can do it!

Having him say he likes you may be nice, but in the end, how he treats you is what counts. The only way to really find this out is to relax as best you can, let the relationship develop, and see what happens between the two of you. Do your best not to let your obsessions distort or obscure who you are. I think the best thing anyone can do in a relationship is to think about the other person, and not about what the other person is thinking about them.

DO NOT KEEP ASKING HIM, you will push him away. People who don't have OCD don't get it and will view you as insecure. I do this with my husband! When we met 10 years ago I was very independant and self absorbed, that is part of what he fell in love with. I have to be very careful because since I developed OCD I have become clingly and am always seeking reassurance from him. If this guy says he likes you, he does, end of story. Also, remind yourself, if things didn't work out with him....it would be because someone better would be in your future. Focus on YOU, do things YOU enjoy and build YOUR confidence. If you recognize it is your OCD good! Now don't let it beat you.
