Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
I do the same thing with Google, but it is one of the few things I do not feel badly about, lol. There is so much information out there, why not check it out and get the real story? On the other hand, if you think you are spending way too much time on the computer as a distraction, maybe find some other more physical things to do as distractions as well? I am not sure avoidance or distraction is a bad thing. I think when we focus are thoughts elsewhere, that is actually a good thing (unless what you mean is that you are avoiding problems that need to be dealt with).
I don't think wanting to know things is really a problem though, unless it's preventing you from doing other things you want to do.
