Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
I`ve recently been diagnosed with the condition ,and whilst not having exactly pscychotic episodes ,(or fear of them)I find that as this awful condition gets worse .,i feel as if i`m going to break down in public .,or (what some ppl would term) am about to "flip"??
Have you a dr treating u for ur thoughts and fears?? Have you told him/her how bad it`s got ,and how frightened you are this will occour??
I know i can`t rest/eat/sleep ,do amything "normal" in my daily life ,until i`ve performed ,my rituals ,which are over taking what feels like every waking moment and thought.
I`m here if you need a friend or if you`re feeling alone ,scared and talking may help?
Good luck ,i know myself just how intrusive these "behaviours" and obsessive thoughts can be .and admit to feeling i was beginning to go mad ,before finally seeking my gps` help.
Take care ,much love ,hope you`re able to get some much needed rest and relief from this..(((hugs))) ,sharon xxxx
