Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
The truth is now, my family is mostly vegetarian(save for me) and I don't cook often so this doesn't come up much.
So even if you are the only one with a certain obsession(which is usually unlikely) it doesn't make you worse or better than someone else with OCD. It's your OCD that's actually obsessing over the obsession(becomes a secondary obsession of sorts).
What is important is to learn how to recognize which thoughts are OCD and how to attack the disorder both cognitively(read book Brain Lock) and behaviorally(exposure/response treatment).
