Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
I tend to think the part of my brain that manifests OCD has always been there wreaking havoc. The irrational part of me feels the desire to go down the rabbit hole to relieve my anxiety. The rational side of me recognizes this and tries to outsmart the irrational side with entering a life situation that exploits my OCD symptoms.
