Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
&i never think anything sexual, or get turned on, but i look alot. i dont know why but yeah.
just wanted to let you know you're not alone(:
Guilt is the number one facter in OCD, we try to be good and then we focus on something we feel bad and want to confess to our family or husband or boyfriend or anyone who would listen.
You do not need to confess to anyone because what we have is OCD illness, we are not responsible for the thoughts, only if you act upon those thoughts and it causes pain to another.
One thing that is good to try and may help is to write the thought down and place it in a box and dont open that box. Do this for a week and keep placing in that box. but never look in that box. Then shredd all of it each week or each month or each year. What ever works for you. Let go of it and you practice letting go and you will see it was not as bad as you thought.
I also journaled for years and just put it away. I have a stack of them. I let it go. Years passed and I did read my journals and saw that it was not as bad as I thought.
We are going to have good and bad thoughts. It is not your fault or anyones fault its just a thought. This is part of our life. Everyone has their own coping skills. For me I just write and shredd and I leave it alone. We are human, we are not perfect ( I noticed those who try to be too perfect have OCD). Yesterday is gone and we just have today and tomorrow will never come.
You are not bad or evil and you have nothing to be ashamed of. You dont need to tell your boyfriend anything hun. Always remember you can write it here on DS and let go of it.
It takes practice but it CAN BE DONE.
I pray for you and I know GOD knows you have a illness, so please dont worry hun. We have all did things we felt quilty of in our minds.
Its just a thought hun.
Practice letting go
It works I know it does because I can do this.
On very stressful days OCD is worse , so when I feel them coming on I try to let go.
Lord Bless Thee
