Hi, I just joined daily strength in search of support and I am a lot older than you are, with that said...I want to tell you that you are not alone. I have the same problem and I have been seen as a pervert, lesbian, crazy, etc. But I am a psychology major and will be doing my Masters on counseling in a few months and I know that this is a form of OCD. The biggest problem I have is that even though I know what it is and that the best therapy for this is cognitive behavioral therapy, it does not make things easier...at all!

This has nothing to do with arousal or anything sexual...it is a form of transgression. I look at private parts, men or women...regardless of age, good looking or not...it is just something I can't help myself from doing and the more I think and fear it, the more I tend to do it. I asked myself why...a thousand of times. Personally, I believe that I stare at other women's private parts because of jealousy and I see them as a threat (unconsciously); and I stare at men's private parts because of the lack of intimacy. I am so sorry that you are going through this at a very young age, my suggestion is that you talk to your mom and tell her. She might be able to comfort you and it might alleviate some of the problems.

Every moment I can't manage to look people in the eyes fear I will look at their privates or they will find out. How is it treated? ;-; I dont think its a crime if you cant help it? Yes, thats exactly me no matter what gender, age, looks. You cant live life looking at people private parts. Its so depressing. And unbearable to live sometimes. (trying to be positive) Yes. the more I fear the more I do it. When someone tells you not to think of an apple, youll automatically think of one. This is easier for Ocd people as their brains are wired like that and they worry a lot. I dont know why I have this problem. Last time there was guy at my school who always looked at my private parts. He wouldnt look away and laughed. I felt really uncomfortable. No its okay. *hugs* Were both so unfortunate. It must been so hard for you. How long you had this? I had this for two years. I dont know if I tell my mom she will tell the whole family. I think I might go to therapy privately. DId therapy work for you which one you did? Stay strong, youre not alone! Keep fighting! Recently I thought life has more to offer. If you look just look don't care remember half of its an illusion. You only live once in a life time. Dont waste, dont regret. wish you the best.
