Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
But not that I am taking away the want of ocd disappearing. I deal with ocd every single day and have since early last year. It is tiring and depressing. That is good you used to pray. How about trying to ask God to give you the stregth and the knowdledge to face this ocd and dont let it win. We are all here for you.
You can have "normal" days Jax. I had almost 10 years of mostly normal till the disease flared up again. I was really bad at the onset of the illness 17 years ago and had to be hospitalized twice originally. However, I had awesome Drs at UCLA that helped me to recover.
You can get better if you don't give up hope, have a fighting spirit, and get good treatment/assistance to fight this illness.
Bob, the illness has made me think about myself and say I am really not this way. But it is messed up since it is in my brain. I know it is the ocd, but it is a constant fight.
