Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
I have a friend who is extremely agoraphobic. She has an arrangement with a very special therapist who actually comes to her house! (I remember when my friend used to be able to occasionally go out. She drove to a very busy 6-way intersection [near home] during rush hour, and it freaked her out so much that she panicked, got out of the car, left it in the middle of the intersection amidst honking cars, and walked home, leaving the traffic to deal with the issue on its own.) She is now very fortunate to have a "mobile" therapist. I wonder if there are many other places where you can find a therapist who makes house calls.
