Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
Alternative therapy sounds kind of general. What type of treatment are you getting?
I say go for the therapy and learn to feel content and happy!
i too have had this feeling...u get so used to the ocd and d. that u feel like its natural and it even feels familiar.there is a line from a song "i like the comfort in bein sad"
that said,i think this kind of thinking is The OCD.The kind of thoughts like u will miss it and etc.Miss what hurts u.Its kind of like eating bad food all the time. For example, say U eat multiple pieces of chocalate cake every day for years and geventually come down with diabetes, cavities, anemia etc.the dr tells u to stop..u think u will miss it.of course you will but WHAT are u really going to miss? the effects or bad health ,poor blood, debilitating disease?sadness, anger, hatred, hoplessness?
What if u begin to be healthy ,little by little u feel so much happier and peaceful than the "comfort" of ocd and d.
...
so how was therapy?
maybe u can put yr babies up for adoption so u can visit whenever u like but still be free at home.
:)
