Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
this is just my opinion so plz don't take it to heart.
However, I do not belive that an out break like swine flu or that asain flu can turn amnetally healthy person into an OCDer. Some will react with more anxiety than others but it will pass for all of them. If it does not pass for a few, then it was a trigger for an already pre-existing conditon (anxiety disoder).
But, I think you made a good argument and it makes for good discussion on here. I think we can all have opinions and have healthy debates.
I know it isn't causing people to have OCD but it is making people start to act the same way I do. Suddenly people don't think I am weird for having hand gel at my desk or in my bag because it is all over the office. Someone even asked to use it. I have been doing that for years!
It def has made me worse. Now I am washing my hands all the time and afraid to touch my eyes, nose and mouth without washing my hands before!
