Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

Almost 6 days ago, I was standing in my living room talking to my mom and all of the sudden i just couldnt talk right, i was trying to say, i left the forks and instead i was saying i like the forks... I couldnt talk right, and i wasnt saying the right words. It scared the crap out of me. I was slurring my words. I had to call an ambulance, because i was so terrified i was having a stroke. Keep in mind i am only 21 years old.
So the ambulance came, and i was seeing a zig zag pattern going in circular motion in my visions, and it made me even more anxious.
I got to the ER and they had me wait for about 2 hours in the waiting room. Then i started to get a headache.... she came in and looked me over asked me a series of questions, and then said she would do a CT SCAN to make sure everything was okay sense i was mimicking stroke symptoms.
They sent me back for the CT SCAN. I was scared. I have always had this fear of having a stroke, ever sense i was 15. I got the CT SCAN everything checked out FINE. No stroke, no tumors, no bleeding in the brain, NOTHING.. Also, the diagnoses she gave me was a precursor to a migraine, which i did have after the speech problem.
This was 6 days ago, and all i can think is OH MY GOD, maybe they missed the stroke, maybe it didn't happen in time. maybe something is wrong with my brain, maybe i am bleeding in my brain now.... all these thoughts keep creeping up all at once, and ever sense i have had that speech problem, i feel like i haven't been talking right. I am so afraid i have been misdiagnosed.
IS this part of my OCD, can someone please tell me im going to be okay, i am so afraid i am going to die.....

I have heard of this happening with a migraine. Try to relax. The did a scan of your brain and did not find anything wrong with you. Trust what they told u. Your OCD will always tell you the opposite but just ignore it. It's like when I thought I had tapeworm, I was tested 3 times and it was always negative but I always felt they must have missed something and I really have a tapeworm. Just the other day I was talking at the dinner table about numbers for some reason and everytime I would count I would mess up and I wouldn't realize it until someone said something and I really thought I was counting right. It happen 4 times. I began to panic a little cuz how could I mess up counting!!! I've done this with just talking too. We get to focused on things and we panic which just makes us mess up more cuz we can't think straight. I say things wrong alot but I attribute it to talking too fast which has to do with having anxiety. There was a time when I was trying to concentrate on what a story my sister was telling me but I couldn't. The more I tried the more panicked I got cuz I was staring at her but I seriously wasn't comprehending anything. It was like she was talkin in a different language. I had to tell her to slow down and I had to repeat was she was saying. It was really scary but I know it's all the working of anxiety. Our minds are very powerful. Your anxiety can make a lot happen. So trust what the doctors said and know that you are ok. It is only your OCD messing with you right now!

I also have heard of this happening with a migraine. All you can do is trust what the doctors have said....your worries right now are your OCD latching on to this episode and making it way more than what it is-

Sounds like a migraine and OCD getting together to play games with your mind. Hang in there and you will get through it.
