As you may or may not know, in November 2010 I started going to the gym 3-5 days a week.
I got really discouraged in the beginning of january when I actually gained about 15 lbs.
I went to the DR, and in September 2010 I weighed 289. As of February 1st, I weighed 281.
So yea, I was getting really upset and I stopped going to the gym.
Well I got a job about 4 weeks ago at a grocery store.
I've been wearing a size 22 in women's pants and a size 20 in women's shirts.
I noticed over the past 3 months or so that I could squeeze uncomfortably in size 16/18, and could kinda wear a size 20.
Today.. just out of curiosity, I put on a pair of size 16 pants. And they fit. Comfortably. I'm super excited. I am now wearing a size 16 pants, but still wearing 18/20 shirts. 1x is still too small, but 2x fits fine. (In men's I wear a large)
So I am excited, anyhow. But I can't figure out why my weight is still in the 280s. People are really focused on the number. Where has my fat gone? Yes I still have belly fat, arm fat, back fat and big thighs. But my body shape is changing slowly. I now have kind of a lightbulb shape.
I also have cut sodas out of my diet almost 100%. Dunno if any of you are on my friendlist but I had a goal for no sodas for 30 days. I went 17 days before I finally caved. And I realized it was kind of eww. So at the end of the 30 days, my craving for soda was turned off by the fact that so long without them, they tasted gross. Way too sweet.
At work I've been drinking water or tea. I've been getting tea at Subway which is just a 30 second walk from the building. I mix sweet and unsweetened tea til I get a taste I like.
Anyway, I'm slowly getting where I wanna. My goal is a size 10 pants. :)

they say exercise sometimes does have a person gain weight because muscle is building. Maybe that is you. However, you are definately doing something right. Also, you are probably getting other added benefits by exercising regularly (hunger control, anti-depressant/stress reliever) so keep up the good work. It is definatelyh working. Congratulations!

That's great! You must have gained muscle! Muscle is your best friend when losing weight, because it burns more calories! And compared to fat- its realy heavy. Congrats, keep motivated
