Obesity Support Group
This community is dedicated to those of us struggling with obesity. Obesity is thought to be a significant risk factor in certain health conditions, leading to increased mortality. Find the support you need by sharing your story, asking questions, and learning from others on how they have coped.
Ok I\'m over the shopping rant. Needless to say I can relate. Don\'t give up. It\'s hard but it is doable. I\'ve been trying to learn that patience with myself and my body is what is required to not give up and throw in the towel. I\'ve also learned that starting at a lower level than I used to be able to do (playing tennis verses going for walks) is needed to get me to where I really want to be (playing tennis and kicking a$$ at it).
since then I still eat the same, No sweets since I have never cared for them, and am losing weight..my doc said I was doing good on my diet, I said what diet..I just quit stressing out over being fat.. I believe stress, worry, being emotional can actually cause some people to gain weight,,Now I leave it in God\'s hand and don\'t worry about it

I\'m trying to build up motivation as well. I hope we can help motivate each other!
I make myself mini goals on DS and I try to abide by them and challenge myself. I also started a support group called Weight Loss Buddies. People sign up for a buddy and are matched at the end of the month for a new buddy for the next month. I\'m starting to get even more active in that group and a lot of people have told me it\'s helping.
Tomorrow I will go to my first TOPS meetings. Do you have a Weight Watchers or a TOPS in your area that you can be a member of? TOPS is significantly less expensive than WW.
And, I hate the word DIET. Ugh, nasty little four letter word. Instead of saying diet, I say lifestyle change and it does motivate me more.
Good luck!
As far as Lane Bryant, sign up for their emails. They will send you coupons for $25 off a $75 purchase, or $15 off a purchase of $15 or more. I go in and buy my blue jeans using these coupons. I always save up until I plan on spending at least $50 at a time.
It\'s a hard journey, but if you take care of yourself, the going will be a lot less hard.
Basically, I\'m doing this so I don\'t have my first cardiac event by the end of my 40s (that\'s when my own father started with all of his cardiac issues)...
Best wishes. Peace. Keep the faith.
