I posted this in the CHRONIC PAIN group, but I felt that I should repost it here because this is where I know someone will understand what I am talking about.
For the past week and some days, I have been swollen from the shoulders down. My chest is swollen, my arms and legs are swollen and my abdomen is swollen. When I first noticed it, I went to the emergency room. The doctor looked at me like I was crazy. I know that I am not a little skinny girl that every little bump will show like a flashing red light on, but I know my body!! I know when something is not right with my body. It's been mine for 38 years, and I know every inch of it. Anyway, the swelling did not go down after that ER visit so I called my newly acquired family doctor. I took on this doctor because the doctor that referred me to him was very pleasant, and he listens to his patients with a caring ear. e just wasn't a general practitioner. My family doctor doubled my fluid pills. Okay. Now I am still swollen, and I have to pee all the time. WTF!!!!!!
Do doctors just not care about you if you are over a size 6?
I would also like to add something here that I just thought about...
There was a male nurse at the ER that was attending to me. He gave the name of a bariatric specialist, and suggested that I call him to get referred to a general practitioner that also specializes in bariatric medicine. That was the first medical professional that I didn't feel like pushing under a bus in a long time.

I have met many cruel doctors and when they hurt me (I don't want to quote them however their words burnt into my memory forever) I had to remind myself that it wasn't about me or my weight, it was about their horrible nature.
I don't need so called hold my hand bed side mannors. I want Dr to be just that, To do her/his job.

Upon reading your post. the 2nd thing that pop into my mind is that u might opt to have your heart and cirrurlation and thickess of your blood checked.
I know that when I spend sometime in a tub thats fully filled w water, my body/tummy temporary shrinks.
3rd thing that pop into mnd is that you might be haveing an allergic reaction. even when we haven't been allergict to something we can become allergic to it.
4th thing that came to mind is a bug bite/bee sting that can't u might be on your bk, if so that might cause such reaction.
these r just a few throughts that pop into my mind.
