My highest was 460 (to my knowledge) which was a complete shock when I first saw those numbers. I knew that I needed to change soon otherwise 500 was right around the corner. Everything was hard at 460. I could barely walk in the morning. My feet always ached. My belly constantly pulled on my lower back because of how heavy it hung. I was barely over 20 years old when I was at my heaviest. I couldn't do much without getting totally out of breath. I couldn't find clothes that were loose on me anymore at that weight. I had gotten so big that I was breaking things because of my weight. I also struggle with PCOS and what now I realize is binge-eating (haven't been diagnosed- but I know it's a major struggle for me). My weight was completely out of control and I knew I needed and wanted to change, yet I continued to sabatoage my goals. I would overeat left and right because of the addiction to food. I'd see myself in the mirror and realize how massive I had gotten which lead me to eat more to cope. It was a viscious cycle I was in. Everything on my body was fat, especially my belly.

Something clicked in me and made me realize that if I kept going like this I would hit 500 soon and suffer even more. I had issues fitting in chairs, booths, bathroom stalls, and more. One day I said enough is enough and I started to eat less, eat better, drink green tea and more water, and begin to exercise. I really couldnt exercise like I truly wanted because of my weight. My back was always sore because of the pull from my heavy belly hang. I would take tons of breaks during a workout but i justified it because I would continue to workout. Little by little I saw progress. I was losing weight. I had tons more energy. I was walking more. I was more active. My clothes were actually fitting me and not just clinging to my belly. I had lost about 80 lbs all in all and I was on top of the world. I of course had a ton more weight to lose but I hit a platuea. I started going back to my old habits and now I'm over 400 again. This year alone I've put back on over 20 lbs. I know that I can and will lose that weight again and some more. But man I am having a hard time. I try to eat well but I am back to binge-eating and not exercising. It sucks because I deeply desire to lose weight and get healthier but I am lacking the motivation.

I just needed to vent. I don't talk to my family about my weight issues and my friends don't really understand all that I am going through.

I am not looking for pitty. I am selfish with food and I did this to myself entirely. I need to do and be better and I know that I will. I just need some sort of motivation and drive again with my weight loss journey.

Eating is so tough to control. Wherever we go, there is food and it tastes so good. Tv has so many food programs and they are always advertising food. I think it is tough to stop once I get started. What helped me, was saying to myself, just for today I will eat right, 3 meals and 2 snacks, with portion control and lots of movement. Then, each day it got easier when I developed new habits. You have lost before and you will do it again. Just keep telling yourself how good you felt. Remember, one day at a time. Thanks for your post and you are not alone.

Something that helps me is the saying "food is fuel". If you really think about that phrase, it's so true. The only reason humans eat is to fuel their bodies. We have to eat to survive. What happens is we forget that and we begin to eat for pleasure and that turns into constant binging and eventually obesity. I'm 20 years old and I just hit the 200 mark a few weeks ago. I'm about 30 pounds over weight and I'm really discouraged with my self. But I've been playing tennis with my boyfriend and taking my dog to the park more often. And I've been trying to live by that quote, "food is fuel". Another thing that helps me is when I go out to eat and I want to order soda, I just think to myself, "when I leave here, will I look back and regret not drinking a soda?". The answer is always no because of course I won't. The hardest part is saying no. Once you're done eating or drinking, youre full and don't mind that you made a healthier choice. I wish you the best.

Thank you for your support! I agree about the "food is fuel" for a while I lived by that and was fairly successful. I don't know what my deal is now but I just keep struggling with overeating and eating for pleasure. Glad to hear you have support from your bf, play tennis, and walk your dog!

I have gotten completely away from the word dieting. Before I put anything in my mouth I think about what is healthy first. I started out leaving one bite of everything on my plate and now have worked my way up to three bites. My hubby drives a truck and I ride with him so not slot of excercise. Plus I had Graves Disease and five years ago my thyroid was finally nuked so no function there. I'm do 15 lbs and have 75 more to go. This morning we stopped and my hubby ordered all the great breakfast foods. I had two thin grilled chops and a salad. She brought me two packs of dressing and I gave her one back. I knew if I kept it I would use it. We all know dieting doesn't work for long. So I think we have to retrain out thoughts.

I know what you are going through! I am diagnosed a binge eater and my highest weight was 392 mid February. I knew something had to be done because I didn’t want to be at the next level or what that would mean for my body. I could not even stand at the sink and do a load of dishes because I would get it in my back so much do to the overhang of my belly. I had to sit and do it! So I started a little bit at a time. I would stand and do dishes. Then I started walking to the end of the block everyday doing a little more each week. Taking small baby steps is what helped me and not getting overwhelmed with the big picture. I hate the word diet also. I think if it as making better choices for myself. Portion control has been key for me! Good luck! You can do it! :)

If you are over 100 pounds overweight, your chances of losing the weight and keeping it off are statistically zero, without surgical intervention.
See a barriatric surgeon. Even with surgery, it is hard to keep off the weight.

I feel for you because I am you. However a pretty answer is not a truthful one.

Sleeve gastrectomy helped me lose 175 pounds. Needed another 100 for goal.

Instead gained 75 back.

But now have kept further gain off with extreme low carb and calorie restriction. Losing seems imposible beyond the 100. But it is better than nothing.

I keep trying. Just have to keep trying.
