So, My battle with weight has been a long one. I have always been a plus sized individual since i can remember, always the biggest of my friends...always the biggest of my classmates....even the biggest in my family. My family would always notice how much weight i gained since they last saw me, it's all they ever noticed. I loved food, sweets mostly and i just always wanted it. It started to get really bad once i hit 13 yrs old and food would always comfort me during my depression because of course I was depressed about my weight. The vicious cycle of being fat because i eat and then eating because I'm fat. I can't remember the last time I was even under 200 lbs. By the time I turned 18 I was 285 lbs, which is also when i got pregnant with my first daughter. i gained so much weight during AND after the pregnancy. I went all the way up to 326 lbs in 2000, which of course made me more depressed because now I felt huge and couldn't for the life of me find the strength to even start trying to lose it. So of course, I would ......Eat. I can however say that i was an active big person because i still did extracurricular activities, i just ate very poorly. After years of carrying it around with me and many failed attempts using diet pills(waste of money) and even trying to starve myself (which totally doesn't work by the way), i finally mustered up the courage to say, "You know what, I'm gonna lose it. I'm not going to give up this time." In 2008 i started my 1st fitness journey, and i lost 75 lbs and was feeling awesome! But then I got pregnant with twins in 2011, and of course after having them i gained all that weight back and then some. My stomach was completely stretched out and was depressed yet again. but if i did it once, I could do it twice. And since I don't plan on ever having kids again, i vowed to myself that I would lose it once and for all. I went from a size 28+ to a size 14 and i just couldn't be happier. It definitely changed my whole quality of life and all i want to do these days is help others who were in the same boat as me and show them that it is possible. Feel free to contact me for any tips on how to lose weight and start a fitness routine. i also started a fitness group where we hold each other accountable and support each other. Keeps us motivated and focused on what we are trying to accomplish. We're always looking for new people to join who are serious about their health and wellness or is looking to start living a healthier lifestyle and needs a support system. Once you stop treating it like a "diet" and think of it as a "lifestyle change", that's when you start to see it for what it is. There's no endgame, it's just you wanting to be better for the rest of your days. :-)

Are you at your goal weight or do you want to keep losing? Or are you looking to tighten and tone/not worried about numbers on the scale?
phoenixgraham
Actually i have a goal weight in my head (between 180-190 would be ideal for me ) but im more focused on toning up.....but in order to tone up i still need to keep losing, so i still have a lot of work to do to get where i want to truly be but dont sweat it so much because i just want to change my body composition. ....more muscle than fat
Ravenstar
Great goals!

That's great! I am at 300 lbs and in that vicious cycle you described so well. I can't exercise right now because I'm suspected of having angina so until all that gets sorted out and we find out what's going on I just need to make a lifestyle change. Everyday I wake up and say today is the day! And then I never do anything. I don't know how to turn up the positive mindset.
