I have tried dieting several times, normally succeed for a while, then it all piles back on again. The one thing in all the diets that I can't cope with is the Hunger Pangs. I just can't cope with feeling hungry.
Anyone got any ways that they use to overcome the hunger pangs. I really need to loose some weight, but just can't cope with being hungry.
All ideas welcomed.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I am currently trying it by using a site which someone else posted last week where you can track your foods online on a journal and it grades what you eat as well as tells you how many calories, fats, proteins, etc you have eaten. You can also track any exercise including just grocery shopping! Before that, I had just cut down on servings on my own and lost my weight but have hit a plateau. I have found that I have not been eating ENOUGH!! after you join the site and enter your info, it tells you ow many calories to eat a day. So, now I HAVE to eat MORE. when I think back to the points system, it is good but not tailored individually. This is. I will know after a few weeks if I start to lose weight if it is working or not, but it is the easiest for me to do so far as I choose what to eat and stop when I near my calorie limit. So far, I haven't even eaten my calorie limit any one of the days.

Hunger can be for something other than food, too. Sometimes I ask myself what it is that I REALLY want and usually I can come up with a few answers. Hang on.. try everything.. something will work for you if your consistant with it.

Last night, PB&J toast (2 slices) was enough to make it stop... I don't use the natural like Zigzag suggested... I like my Jif extra crunchy... but the carbs in the bread, the protein in peanut butter and a touch of sweet with a little fruit spread really hits the spot. Maybe I should have only ate one slice... but two slices was still less calories than if I grabbed my keys and headed to the nearest drive thru. Sometimes a little oatmeal in the evening does wonders, too. I like this organic instant type that comes in single serve packs, just add boiling water... it's got good texture (unlike most instants) and tastes so good I can eat it straight, no sugar or milk or anything added.
Personally, I need carbs in my diet to lose weight. Some people need to avoid carbs... I hope you find what works for you to halt those hunger pangs!
Or if you'd rather do it on your own, let yourself have snacks that have 0 calories or very low calories. Carrots, celery...
You have to EAT to lose weight, as strange as that sounds. If you eat only a little, you will find your metabolism will slow down, and it will only get harder to lose weight.
You should start having at least four meals a day. Breakfast, Lunch, Snack and Dinner.
This time trying a website that was posted on here somewhere called Calorie Count Plus, where you plan your own and just record what you've eaten. They work out your calories etc based on life style and how much exercise you should do. Only started last Friday, so will see how it goes.
