Well I've been on and off diets my whole life. So this is the question I always asked myself too. How do I stay motivated? The truth is, i have never been as motivated as I am now and Im 23 years old. I think the thing that is different now is that my doctor just told me that she suspects PCOS and pre-diabetes because of some syptoms she can see. This scared me. I dont want diabetes and I dont want PCOS. This is one of the leading causes of infertility in women. Its very sad, and unfortuneately there is no cure for it, but loosing weight helps control and maintain it. So that is my motivation. The future and me in it, loving life. I need that so bad right now. I want somethign to look forward too, and not something that only hars me and does me no good (food, bad kind). So ya, I barely found this new motivation so I'm no pro. But maybe you can do the same, think of soemting that motivates your future and wanting to look forward to! hope this helps! -d
It ca be hard to find your own motivation, especially if you've never had it to begin with. You can also do it because you simply want to live to see your next birthday, however there are cases where a perfectly slim and athletic person will collapse and die whereas the fat bastard will live till 90 lol
I love going to my gym because because not only are my friends there and i love training, but also because it's my "me" time and my "fortress of solitude" if you will where me and my fellow lifters can go to be amongst peers. On the flip side, you don't have to be a lifter to establish a friendship with someone who goes at the same time. Maybe meet a friend in an aerobics class. Bottom line is, it becomes a fun part of your daily routine, so you stay motivated.
Try to remember that losing weight is the icing on the cake to how you feel in terms of health.
Don't think about inches and numbers on the scale, think about your internal organs, your health, how much energy you have, it feels good to feel healthy....When you focus on that, the weight comes off.
Don't think you have to do it all at once or be in a diet forever, small changes add up.
Increase your consumption of green vegetables even with your other foods not necesarily instead.
You can have your cake and eat it too, just have to learn how to combine your foods in a way where to body uses them for energy in a more effective way.
Learn about low glycimic index foods and highly alkaline foods, both are very good for your health, drink a lot of water.
The SMALL changes you to your life style will all ad up.
