Hi.I received a call from the hospital I am wanting to perform my gastric bypass surgey today.I have not yet called them back due to I am in the process of moving and will be completely moved on this Tuesday.So figured would give the hospital my new phone number and address.I am excited to learn more about the surgey and to find out if I would be accepted to have the surgery.But due to my health issues I hope they do not decide to not accept me to have the surgery done.After I get moved I will update everyone as soon as I knw more.Hope everyone is doing ok.Still trying to cut back on my eating as much as I can.One of my favorite things lately has been surgar/free jello.It seems to help crave my want for sugar.I really hope I am able to have the surgery done if I am healthy enough to have it done.Take care all.

So glad things are looking up for you. I hope you get the news you want to hear. It is tough with a lot of medical problems. My husband has a lot of medical issues and just had the gastric sleeve done. Nothing is a walk in the park but we should try to be in the best possible health as possible. My best to you on your journey.

Thanks everyone for your response.My partner is also checking into having the gastric by pass with me being a cig smoker if I am good canidate for the surgery I will quit smoking and after 3 months can have the surgery.So my partner figures is she is a good canidate for the surgery she can have hers first and I can help take care of her and then she can help me when I have mine.Again thanks for your post.Hugsss.Jerrie

You certainly don't want to be a smoker post-op. I knew a girl who had the surgery almost a year before me and about 2 years post-op, went on a bit of a bender. Out drinking often, and picked up the nasty habit of smoking. She recently had to go in for a scope and ulcer (removal....repair?.... I wasn't really listening...) due to the smoking.
