Obesity Support Group
This community is dedicated to those of us struggling with obesity. Obesity is thought to be a significant risk factor in certain health conditions, leading to increased mortality. Find the support you need by sharing your story, asking questions, and learning from others on how they have coped.

Take your time... the holidays are just around the corner and it will be the toughest time yet. See if there's a group in your community like a church group that you can meet up with to just talk and get out of your house with. Keep looking.
Take a deep breath and just put one foot in front of the other. It's not a race to the finish line, it's a finish with pride to the finish line.

We all stumble and slide - I didn't do any exercising last week myself - and as long as we are here for each other, we can support each other. As for the junk food - throw it out! So, you waste a few $'s, you'll regain the cost in self esteem and a sense of power. I too cannot have the junk food in the house because I cannot stop once I stop.
For sweet snacks, I stock the fridge with sugar free puddings, popsicles, and jello. For crunch, pretzels and vegie chips. I even made my own mocha mix that when made with 1/2 c milk/1/2 c water is only about 125 calories in an 8 oz cup. It's fat free/sugar free French Vanilla International House Instant Coffee with Stephans White Hot Chocolate. The ratio is 3 to 1 - or 3 parts coffee to 1 part white hot chocolate mix. It is SO GOOD! You can also make a frozen treat with it. Just use milk and ice cubes! Honestly, i don't even miss the vanilla bean frapps at Starbucks and the cost is about 1/10th!
Remember, six small meals or 3 meals and 2 smaller snacks. Good Luck and Please Keep Us (ME) posted. You are inspiring!

What helped me with the exercise is I only do it 3 to 4 times a week at 30 minutes of walking or bike at each time. And with the exercise I worked my way into that routine over months and months. I've lost over 100 lbs doing this over a 9 month period. You can get back on track and do this! You have a lot of support here. We are all routing for you!
1. Don't beat yourself up.
2. Get back on the good-eating and exercise plan as fast as you can.
I ate 6 chocolate cookies and 9 mini snickers yesterday.
Today I'm back with my healthy life.
The mistake I made was letting my son leave the bag of snickers here and buying the cookies before Sandy cause "ooooooooo, a hurricane is coming, better get crap to eat".
Oh well, I'm only human.
Lizzie....I can not hide from food, either if its in our household or elsewhere..Must face food with self control..Food is everywhere when we grocery shopping, home ,etc..This process is about self control and can not hide away from food, ..can have one food, but not overdoing it..My family is not the one with a weight problem and its my own issue,..This path is about eating our favorite foods in moderation.and finding other things to avoid the boredom/stress that leads to overeating,..I gotten coping skills and now that I eat more food of my calories at 3000 or less,..My journey is a learning experience. I can eat cake or a candy, but not the whole bag.

So I just wanted to say your doing great.
You don't need to hide from food. But it may not be helpful to always seek temptation either. Your family may not be on a diet, but they care about you and so should show restraint and not ask you to buy junk for them. And like I said, it doesn't hurt anyone to eat a little more healthily.
Heck when my kids do good in school they are given an ice cream or pizza party!
Always all about food it seems.
I need to get into a better mind frame. My messed up way of thinking, heck I already ate 1, 2, 3, I just as well eat the whole package! :/
