Hey everyone! I am new here, and I was wondering if someone (or some-more-than-one) would be interested in getting to know me a little bit, and being my online / ds / email exercise and food accountability buddy.
I started the South Beach Diet (for the second time) a month or two ago, and I managed to lose about 8 pounds so far (though I may have gained some back at this point - I've been too afraid to weigh myself lately) and I've been trying to get myself in a more serious exercise regimen for a while now, but I need some support, because some days my resolve is just weak and my mood is just discouraged (which is when I binge, and ruin everything). My roommate refuses to exercise with me, and my other friend who is trying to lose weight too started exercising with me, and agreed to meet once a week to work out, but now every week something seems to magically "come up" and she can't do it.
I don't know about any of you, but for me I do much better when I'm eating around other people, because I'm too ashamed to binge or overeat when other people are watching. Its almost like my brain thinks that calories eaten in secret somehow don't count, and they wont make me fatter. I've tried keeping a food diary, but I'm really bad at remembering, and it doesn't provide enough accountability or feedback.
Anyway, a little about me:
I just turned 23, I am about 5 foot 6, and I currently weigh about 230 pounds. About 50 of those pounds were gained within the last year (it was a crazy year - graduating from college, depression / suicide / self harm / friend issues, psychiatric hospitalizations for the aforementioned issues, and just generally coming to grips with the fact that I am now an adult). I was already a little overweight in high school, and then I went to college and gained about 20 pounds over the first 3 years. My mom and my stepfamily (my dad died when I was little) are all super skinny and healthy, mentally and physically, and they don't understand, though they try.
I'm just frustrated and impatient, and I could use some support from someone who understands what I'm going through. Like maybe we could email / message each other every day or every other day just to check in and see what each other ate and if each of us exercised, and how much, and just generally check in and see how each other is doing emotionally and everything.
Does anyone have any other ideas?

Ariane06, I am also frustrated and sooo impatient! You will definately find all of the support you need on this website. I have been here for less than a week and checking in a few times a day has really made me stick to my plan. Best Wishes!
