Obesity Support Group
This community is dedicated to those of us struggling with obesity. Obesity is thought to be a significant risk factor in certain health conditions, leading to increased mortality. Find the support you need by sharing your story, asking questions, and learning from others on how they have coped.
An opportunity has come up to take part in some research looking at health and lifestyle attitudes and intentions. The research is being carried out by researchers at the Department of Behavioural Science & Health at University College London. For this study, you need to be female and aged 18 years or older. You can access the questionnaire using the link below. The questions will relate to your diet, physical activity and general health attitudes. It should take between 20-30 minutes to complete.
Please follow the link if you are happy to complete the questionnaire: https://opinio.ucl.ac.uk/s?s=48848
Feel free to email me with any queries and many thanks in advance for your time,

I have been overweight all my life and middle & high school had to some of the hardest times in my life. There's no easy fix for being overweight or for dealing with the emotions it brings out in you - you will likely always be self-conscious about how other perceive you and you will probably hold onto moments that others will forget, but there is always hope.
You have to remember that everyone has some aspect of themselves they don't like - even the "perfect people" who seem to have it all. Find out what makes you happy and do it. :) There is a growing trend in media of celebrating all body sizes; high school students are generally not mature enough to appreciate the messages, but you can.
If you decide to focus on losing weight, great. BUT do it in a healthy way - reasonable dietary changes and exercise (even if the fat is jiggling all over the place, I like to think you burn extra calories that way).
Good luck! And don't let anyone steal your happy from you, they don't deserve it!
