I wish there was a magic pill or easy exercise plan that would help you loose faster but there isn't one I have found.
I am over weight and try to loose everyday but so far only minimum results.
If you find something that helps clue me in.

I applaud you for getting the support you need and taking care of yourself, and I am glad you have support from your sweetheart.
Unfortunately, there is no one size fits all weight loss plan, and so I think that learning what works for you individually by trial and error is the best way to tailor your eating, and fitness plan for you.
I have gotten confused in the past, because people always said, eat less meat, eat more whole grains, and I listened, and I gained weight. And I did not feel good. For me, what I have learned is to modify my food intake to eat less grains and more protein. I don't use any powders, or artificial foods. I am trying to eat less processed foods, less fast foods, and more chicken, turkey, fish, shellfish, and beef, less pork. I supplement that with lots of salads, veges, nuts, and small amount of fruit, cottage cheese, small amount of brown rice, yams or potatoes and if I eat pasta (which I love, but try to avoid) I use corn/quinoa pasta with more fiber and protein and no gluten and really try to limit the carbs- breads, cakes, pastas, crackers, chips, cookies, donuts, rolls, muffins, etc. For me, I have learned, kicking and screaming all the way, that sugar, wheat and grains and alcohol are all not the better choices for my body, and yet, because of the 4 food groups and food pyramid, I was trying for YEARS to eat more whole grains and feeling miserable and gaining weight.
I have maintained 20 pound loss from 330 to 310, with these changes, plus I swim in an aquatic class 3 times a week, and I walk on my treadmill or outdoors 2-3 days a week for 30 minutes.
I understand your discouragement. I went on a very strict food plan for about 7 months, and I was down to 280, and then I lost my resolve and I gained all back to 330. So this time, I am trying to be kind to myself, and not have an all or nothing mentality. It has not helped me lose pounds quickly, but it has helped me to keep trying even if I have an off day of too much eating. That happens less and less now, and still, the weight feels like it does not come off easily.
I have gone to Overeaters Anonymous for 2 years, that helped me some, but I was not willing to be as strict as some people are who have good results.
I have noticed when I was enjoying dance classes or yoga or aerobic classes in the past, my metabolism improved and I would gain more muscle and take off pounds, but at this point, my knees and ankles hurt too much if I over exercise because of the excess weight they are carrying, so I know I have to start with care about what I am putting in my body.
So, for me, I find that skipping meals is the worst thing I can do, like if I overeat one day at dinner, thinking, I will skip breakfast tomorrow. No, that always sets me up for failure. So I don't play catch up anymore. Every day is a new day. If I had a slip up yesterday, oh well, it is what it is. Today, I will eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, and if needed, 2 or 3 single serving protein snacks, like a boiled egg, turkey jerky, 1/2 chicken breast, a tuna packet, a cheese stick. Drinking plenty of chilled water helps me stay on track, too.
All this, and I still have not been losing weight steady, just maintaining my 20 pound loss. But, that is better than the rapid gaining I was doing before....gaining about 5 pounds every month.
I think the way I have learned that works best for me by trial and error so far (still have lots of room for improvement) is helping to keep my blood sugars lower and stable, less mood swings, less cravings, less ravenous hunger pangs, and avoiding grains and sugar help me think more clear headed, less foggy brained.
Everyone has a recipe for weight loss, but I think that we all have to take what we like and what works, and leave the rest behind, because it all won't work the same for all of us.
Do keep me posted on your progress, I wish you the very best.
Weightloss is calories in vs calories burnt, so keep up eating well and exercising, and you will succeed.
