if you weigh everyday you will have fluctuations in that also. but some people find comfort in checking in everyday. if this is part of your m.o. but are worried you are becoming too obsessive about it (and if you want) you can always try to create a space between weigh in two days in a row and then skip a day, then push it to weighing in every other day, every two days, etc till you are weighing in once a week. maybe your comfort level is every two days or something - the important part is not in the amount you weigh in, but in comfortable control with non-obsessive behavior.
I am going to assume that you already have an understanding/knowledge base for how the body processes what you eat. That being said, I had a moment yesterday where italian pastries were brought out at work and I totally indulged. All I could think about post eating them was how I needed to make it to the gym to counteract those calories in my food journal. Actually, those treats didn't even make into my journal because I went over my cal intake before adding them in so I chalk up yesterday to just an off plan day. Oh, and I also didn't make it to the gym either I kept telling myself that if I was going to eat those things there needed to be consequences and if I didn't learn that I would indulge too much and go back to my old ways. Well, when I got home (in a snow squall) and chose a salad for dinner, I said "f*that" to the gym and laughed it off. I figure everyone has off days that that can't plan for, and why get so hard on myself. If I don't lose this week I will be disappointed but I also have to take a step back and really evaluate how well I have been doing instead of zeroing in on only the mistakes - and if I enjoyed it on a good to moderate level and didn't make myself sick then there really isn't a problem because I don't want to be one of those people who can't enjoy anything when the moment occurs.
Hope it helps or inspires or gives a different perspective good luck! :-)
I assume that 90% of foods contain salt. dang water weigh. sometimes it may take a few day r week to start to get rid of water.
I use powder protein. I have protein drinks, instead of milk, I use water to make drink. it pumps my musals. I assume that wopuld also cause temporary weight gain.
I also use carotene. that pumps my musical's. lol, it can take 1 to 3 days for that weight to come off.
Body has to have and craves protein. we need fiber, sleep and to move.
Oh ya that low fat n/r low carb n/r low salt so called butter has salt in it.
aw Americans. just use sagar n/r salt n/r grease. yep they will eat fried poop on a stick, and ask for more.
In islands they all say that americans crave/eat pig slop. I must agree with islanders/ other country's.
But oh some poop smell so good.
Limit salt carb starch intake
no white flour.
I'm not going to weigh in until mid of next week. I know at least 2 of donuts will cause my butt to look like couple of donuts. dam white flour salt sugar/
Oh 1 more thing we should only weigh in the 1st thing in morning because as day progress we all gain temporary weight. most of daily temp weight causes everyone to gain at least 5 lbs a day.
I know that I have weigh in, then had 1 gal poo session. lol. yes aprox 4 to 5 hr's later I had lost the temporary weight gain.but my gut is still bloated. Thank God for gas x otc medication. I take 1 and in 3 hr.'s the bloatnessl slowly subsides w/o blowing sheets off bed,lol Ya that will instantly wake the dog. where dog shoots like a bottle rocket, off the bed, from sound sleep, lol Every since then my dog will sleep on my pillow with me but there is no way that he will go under covers, lol. smart dog he leart that I can play music.
Lets pull together to get each other through the night. I still have mid night refg raids. 4PM 7 PM 10 PM 12 R 1AM I seem to struggle to try to make myself from eating. these are the hardest hours for me. A few mo.'s ago I could stop bingeing ( stress can cause stress eattig which is binge eating )
I use to put tofether foods that I can't stand. I just couldn't make myself to stop pigging.
I have pushed people out of my life/envorment because they didn't hear my words and they didn't give a poop about my health. they persistently and constantly fill my kitchen with junk foods. of course they would always stop by daily w my fav foods. Hin sight. I can Live long healthy life w/o such people. yea I will temporary cry, yes I will miss them.
don't give up. don't beat yourself up. you can n will reach your goals.
I actually weighed again tonight (before dinner but after working out) & 2.2 pounds down. So...not so bad. It's just at times it can be SO discouraging!! I know I should weight first thing in the morning. I need to get a new digital scale. Then again I think I shouldn't have one at all and just use my clothes as a guide.
I'm just now really starting to get back into the whole weight loss thing within the past few weeks. I want to be able to RUN a 5K by June 14th. (Or at least walk fast! lol) I haven't done a 5K in years & it's going to be tough but not impossible.
Oh Admiral...I feel ya on the Gas X thing. I'm a vegetarian and I take it ANY time I know I eat something that will make me feel bloated. :)
I am not going to weigh myself for months. It causes me too much anxiety. I can't take all the ups and downs.
I will judge how my clothes fit as to how I am doing.
I am working on eating healthier foods, more excercise, portion control and less junk food. None of this is easy.....
