Non-hodgkin's Lymphoma Support Group
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of cancer arising from lymphocytes, a type of white blood cells. It is so called because of its distinction from Hodgkin's disease, a particular subtype of lymphoma. It is in fact an overarching term of many different forms of lymphoma, each with individual characteristics. Most cases start with infiltration of lymph nodes, but specific...
If it is something different than that, I would call the oncology nurse to see what they have to say. If it is a side effect from her treatments, they will know all about how to help her.
Congrats on her survivorship.
Any chance your wife had Neupogin (sp) shots in conjunction with her R-CHOP chemo? The Neupogin shots are given during the chemo treatment process to increase the growth of white blood cells. Mine crashed quickly during my chemo treatment, so I got the shot early on. I had severe bone pain from these shots. My doctor had commented that he had never heard of that, but as the pain progressed I did more research. As I looked further into it I found that there is a small percentage of people that actually experience mild to severe bone pain after these shots. I hope this information is helpful. Be strong and continue your support for her. As I found these treatments effect all of us differently. Even if the doctor tells you "they have never heard this complaint" please know that the doctors don't always know about all the possible side effects that their patients may experience. PS: My Oncologist in one of the if not best in his field, so if he wasn't aware I think it is likely that most oncologists are not as well.
Stay positive and optimistic,
You two are in my prayers!
Hugs, Treenut
I also had R-Chop and also experienced some nights of leg cramps. However, like Treenut and Merlynsdad, I took high dosages of Neupogin (shots and IV). I too, have experienced joint and bone pain as a results.
I would like to ask, how long do these side effects last. I had my last doses of Nuepogin in Oct. 2013 and I'm still experiencing these discomforts. I talk with my Oncologist last week and she seems to think it isn't from the Neupogin or the R-chop. She recommended I get checked for arthritis. Is she right or could I still be experiencing the side effects?
I know we will never be 100% back to where we were before our diagnosis, but am I being impatient thinking my side effects should be over by now?
Thanks for any advice CL
