I haven't been on here since 2012 surprisingly since I started Rituxan treatment. Allow me to introduce myself. I was diagnosed in 2010 with stage 4(bone marrow involvement but not organs) indolent follicular b-cell Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. I started Rituxan in 2012 and had 8 back to back weeks of treatment and then 1 every two months up until Dec 2014. I went out on strike in oct 16 and have been out of work and insurance for over 100 days now. Unfortunately over the holidays we tend to self indulge in the things that will do us harm and have caused my condition to worsen. What I would like to tell any of you that have anything similar to my condition is this. STAY AWAY FROM ALL SUGAR AND ALCOHOL!!!. The alcohol causes severe inflammation in your immune system(lymph nodes) compromising it's effectiveness and the cancer feeds and multiplies extremely fast on sugar. Sugar and alcohol are bad for your condition but is even worse when ingested at the same time like sugary alcoholic drinks. If you have a sweet tooth I suggest you supplement with Splenda because I believe it is not absorbed by the body and has less of an impact on your immune system. Hopefully I will be back to work soon because my company and union are negotiating a contract. The health insurance plan the company tried to shove down our throats would have caused me to go broke with medical bills for treatment. I thank my union for fighting for a decent healthcare plan that will help cover the costs of my treatments. I don't know if anyone knows of another treatment that is good besides Rituxan because my trial on that is done and I am looking to try something else. I don't know if there is another biotherapy like Rituxan or try R-chop or Bendamustine? Thanks and if anyone has any questions for me I will try to get back on here more often to help.
