I did the sleep tests at the sleep lab and I was told I have hyperinsomnia. I wake up between 1 and 2 hundred times a night so I never get to the rem portion of sleep. I also don't exhale properly and therefor CO2 builds up in my blood. This is partially due to my sleep apnea. I'm a mess. I'm on O2 at night and I'm suppose to use a CPAP machine but it's just too cumbersome so I don't use it. I really don't know what else to do except play on my PC and write during the night. It does give me lot's of time to catch up on hings I don't get done during the day. I pray you are having a better time with your insomnia than I am.

Heya Steve,I have Restless Leg Syndrome, neuromuscular spasms accompanied by relentless pain which aggravates my stage 4 sleep (REM) disorder and cobined my insomnia becomes my worst nightmare when my Rx sleep meds don't do sqat. I know we are truly sleep deprived while God still gifts us to communicate in our delerium of sleeplessness, and insomnia. I like not being able to sleep,because I can get the most work done down in my shop., but when I get tired I have to quit so I don't cit off a didgit or two. In fact last night I didn't sleep I am making a cabinet for clothes.
Solimedral is the main reason I can't sleep. It does give me energy and I like this. I also take Adderall which is a narcodic (speed). I know these thinmgs are not good for me so I am going to try and replace
them with vitimans eventually, I hope, You know I am probably hooked on the speed. I have been taking it for about 12 YRS. So any ways The most frustratingabout this Is when i DON'T GET THE MUCH NEEDED sleep I get fatiqued early in the day. Peace to you

I hate sleeping. I think my dreams are stressful cause when I do sleep I wake up and feel like I just did so much work and it was some kind of awful work. I don't remember the dreams that often though. I just know they sucked cause of how I feel when I wake up. I'm usually tireder in the afternoon, but when night comes I get a lot of energy, like my body knows what's coming and it wants to avoid sleeping and dreaming.

I can fall asleep, no problem, its staying asleep. I can sleep for an hour or two and then Im wide awake when the rest of the world is sleeping. Usually my insomnia kicks in when I have something important to do the next morning. That to me is frustrating. I can't use regular sleep aids because of my depression and I have screwed up my seratonin levels in my brain from my years of drug use. So, 8 hours of sleep is an illusion to me! I think the most irriating thing is that no matter what I take I still can't sleep and my head is constantly hurting and I know I need to sleep. I can fall asleep easily, but 1-3 hours later, I'm wide awake and cannot go back to sleep. It's been like this for years but its gotten more severe in the past month or so. Late night TV shows and movies are becoming my best friend! Its really frustrating when you're tired as hell and your body is ready and you go to sleep..and then you wake up and you're wide awake but your body is screaming for you to go back to sleep..and you can't.

Right now the most frustrating thing is my eyes being dry and burning. I haven't slept in two and a half days now andit's starting to get to me. Ya'll, Please pray for me that the Lord will knock me out and let me sleep. My mind won't slow down enough to let me sleep.I think I'm manic, I know I am.

Being soooooo completely exhausted that I'm falling asleep standing up or sitting only to crawl into bed with my eyelids so heavy and wanting to sleep and I can't!! I have RLS too and I can relate to what was said even when I get sleep I don't really sleep and am still tired in the morning. No meds I've found so far work, and the ones that would I can't take cuz of the dependancy factor. That's another thing that irritates me. Besides the only ones that do put me out do it too well no matter the dose and then I can't get up. Not easy to make a living and work if you only get to work 1 day in the week.

I feel like I'm always chasing around in my sleep too so maybe that's why I wake up tired. I used to just have insomnia that didn't let me stay asleep but now I have the other lovely kind too that makes it about 1-3hrs. before I can get there. I can totally relate lilac my body comes alive at night too no matter how much I try to put it to sleep and I'm always falling asleep in the afternoon even though I don't let myself cuz I'm worried it's going to stop me from sleeping at night.....ha!!! that's a joke! I'm bipolar 11 too so that doesn't help since mania is almost always provoked by lack of sleep and manic prevents sleep....fun! It seems, alas, that I'm not alone. I'm glad to have you all here to relate to and talk to late at night when I can't sleep...lol

bloody hell, is there no hope for us? (sleep)

It is really frustrating, when I can't sleep. And mine fluctuates as to the hours in which I sleep. Some nights I will go right to sleep and wake within two hours, like tonight. Or I simply cannot sleep no matter what I do. Therefore, I stay awake till four am and then fall asleep. No rhyme or reason for the lack of sleep I lose daily.
It has been going on for at least the last twelve years or more. I hope one day it will disappear as fast as the problem came. Can't find a sleep aid that works. I've tried many sleep aids and not one will work for me. So waiting for it to cure itself one day if that is possible. Best of luck to all of you as you also try to get that much needed rest. I sleep sometimes!!!!!!
I took 1/2 doxylamine succinate so only 12.5mg and I slept well last night, 8hrs. Other times I'll go a few days on only several hrs. Not since the hospital have I taken drugs to help me, I tried temazapam, stilnox and then serequel. I don't get tired. Is there anyone else who doesn't really get tired? No-one I know. I function on very little zzzzzzzzzz. It is quite amazing, but I have always been able to do that. It used to frustrate the hell out of me, now I don't stress. Lyn

Being out of sync with everyone else is bad

The worst part for me is not sleeping at night than sleeping when i'm spossed to be awake. They put me on a pill that gave me horrible nightmares and i couldn't wake up. Stopped that. Won't take anymore meds too scared of the nightmares and not being able to wake up from them that was horrible.

No one to talk to at this hour of the morning... It is so lonely here.
