I'm not sure what kind of neuropathy you have. With injections in the ankle I gather it is peripheral neuropathy? Is it due to diabetes? If so, controlling your diabetes and reducing weight will help prevent it from getting worse. Gabapentin is overrated. Have you ever tried Lyrica? I have never so I can't comment on it. Medical marijuana can help with neuropathic pain as does the muscle relaxants tizanidine and baclofen. I have compression neuropathy at the forearms. The spinal stimulator was suggested to me as well, but I chose not to because you have to press a button to stimulate it and I have very disabled arms. It can help. If you're in a lot of pain, what do you have to lose?

I have the idiotic Neuropathy. Several doctors have told me to try Lyrica but I am afraid of it. I know a friend who gained a lot of weight from it 7 a lot of negative things but they claim it is better.
I do have a Mamajuana card & smoke it & ye sit does help the pain but then it damages the lungs & the edibles don't seem to work for me.

In terms of medical marijuana, smoking and edibles are not the best choices I find too. I take mine infused in oil. Do you have that available in your area? Do you have online companies that can ship it to you like in Canada, where I live?

There is also using a vaporizer – it's faster acting than oil and is a lot easier on the lungs! I have 1 of those also.

To be honest with you I could not remember the correct term for that word. Thank you & now I will write it down. Now i do feel like an idiot. lol
I have it in my feet, toes, ankles, & legs up to above my knees. I also have hand & finger pain & a lot of arthritis too in the neck & back.
I also have abdominal adhesions resting on my abdominal wall & had surgery at the Mayo Clinic almost 2 years ago & I have had problems ever since. They were so bad they could not get to it all. I have a history of Endometriosis.
What is your thought on Lyrica? I have a very delicate stomach & have Stage 3 Kidney disease. My stomach does not handle liquids.

I've never been on Lyrica. It was not advised for me because it can cause swelling which will worsen my compression neuropathy of the forearms. I didn't Google the side effects of Lyrica but I remember that there are many. If there are cautions about the kidney I wouldn't take it. Ask your doctor's opinion. The spinal stimulator does not tend to have negative side effects. I know it sounds scary but I think it's quite safe. It was suggested for me, but I decided to try some different medications 1st.
Do you get any redness with the neuropathic pain in your legs and hands?

No I get no swelling anywhere. I just get that burning tingling achy feeling & at night I jump out of bed with cramps in the legs that won't go away. I have to walk the floor & it is terrible. I just don't know what to do.
The Lyrica can cause massive weight gain I have heard so that is one reason I won't take it & also I have heard some people have ended up in the hospital.
Right now I am functionable but I do a little house work & sit down & then do a little more. My husband helps me out a lot so that helps.
