nerve cutting

Does anyone have any info on this? My hubby wants me to have this done because he thinks that it will magically take away all my pain but im not wanting to jump into things. I agree with my family and friends ive been through a lot this year and i dont have a god support system at all. But hubby says he cannot take me dealing with this for a few more years he wants it fixed now or he is leaving me. i know i already posted all that im sorry it just upsets me so so much. But if anyone has any info on nerve cutting or freezing that would be great.

I was doing some checking on the internet and this is a treatment that very few doctors do because of the chance of cutting more than they should. I'm sorry, but I can't understand your hubby leaving you if you don't 'get this fixed.' It's not that easy and shouldn't he be part of your support system? Anyway, I found this link where you can read up on the nerve cutting thing. I hope it will be of help. I don't think your husband would be very happy if you went in to have your nerves cut and ended up paralyzed though. Just something to think about. My thoughts go out to you ... in a good way.

meganKo8, I'm so sorry you don't have any support. Please know we are here for you. We are all fighting the same battle. I'm just curious as to how your husband even came up with such an idea. I've heard nerve cutting can be very dangerous and could end up causing worse problems. Please check out the info that aubleeanna posted. Don't jump into this to try to save your marriage. You have to think of yourself first. Sorry I am not much help. I just want you to know that I'm here if you want to talk. I'll be thinking of you. Sending big gentle hugs your way.

@Megan...I had a failed triple inguinal neurectomy (ablation...or nerve cutting of the 3 inguinal nerves located on either side of the groin). I was told it was my LAST option and there was NOTHING else that could help me.

I know this post is a few years LATE!! I certainly hope Im not preaching to the choir...that you may have already gone through with the procedure. If its still an option, I would respectfully ask that you RESEARCH IT IN DETAIL, but you HAVE to know what you are looking for. Our medical system does a GREAT JOB of keeping lots of the dirty details off the internet, but I KNOW where to find it all.

Trust me, now that I am about to have surgery #10...because surgery #3 failed drastically (the nerve cutting), it speaks for itself. Im not saying the technique is flawed and will not work...the SYSTEM is flawed and there are only a few doctors worldwide who should even have the right to perform any nerve ablation surgeries!! My surgeon was apparently VERY experienced with the operation...but a year after the operation, I learned that it was her VERY FIRST. NOW; she has been ordered to NEVER again perform a neurectomy and that ENTIRE hospital staff (including her superiors and neurosurgical specialists) have all been ordered to discontinue any neurectomies...on account of how BAD they messed me up. Its a VERY scary situation!!
