i did post this in the chronic pain group but Im kinda looking for everyones input on this.
Has anyone ever gone? I put in a request for an appointment after I learned that my current pain/neurologist is undergoing an invetigation. Great right. So Im hoping that my insurance may cover soemthing Im very worried too because my pelvic neuropathy has gotten worse and I just feel like I am at the end of my rope. My dr now has me on fentanyl every 3 days and also diaudid or hydrmoprone Im not sure all how to spell it but Im just worried because the pain is getting worse and is even in areas now that havent hurt this bad since I have a Pelvic Inflammatory diesase which is an infection in the uterus, fallopian tubes, and in my case my ovaries and the infection I had was Staph. My current dr told me that the staph had attacked my nerves and damaged them they are always inflammed and send out the wrong signals. Hubby I dont know Im going through a lot right now my mom's side of the family is now blaming me for her death. ya petty it was 8 years ago and I was 15 but Im trying to focus on school and my relationaship and even trying to work but Im so stressed. If my dr loses his job I will have to go 8 hours out of my way just to find a new pain dr and I cannot currently do that. Im pretty scared about the whole thing but you guys know my pain always has since so many think its in my head. But my dr had me and everyone else sign that nifty little pain med contract. My biggest beef is that the meds keep getting stronger and stronger and Im just worried because he has always handed me them and told me there is no other treatment besides the nerve blocks and meds. I told him my first visit that I didnt want to be on those meds and here I am way above what I was taking which was percs or vicodin. Ive had a head cold forever now and both my family and pain dr are afraid to give me anything to help. So anyways Im sorry that I have not been around just going through too much and I feel so alone in all of this since you know its all in my head. great

I feel so bad for you. You are so young to be young to be going through all this,as if the pain itself wasn't enough, you've got this thing with your Mom's side of the family blaming YOU. I don't know what that's all about, but definately NOT what you need to get better. I think you definately need to look into the Mayo Clinic option. If your insurance will cover it, then GO FOR IT. You are too young to get on the never-ending-carosel of pain-meds-doctors-doubts-fears-depression-and just getting worse. This could be your answer. It might be painful if these super-strong pain-meds are not what you need, but in the long run, I think it will be for the best because you're close to the TOP you can't go much HIGHER. I DO NOT BELIEVE IT'S IN YOUR HEAD. I'm a nurse and I know what PID can do, without the nerve damage to boot, so whoever said that just doesn't understand what you're dealing with here. I hope you can get to go to Mayo or find a new, good doctor., Lois Lynn
