Scared to tell him

I have recently reunited with an old classmate from high school. We haven't seen each other in 20 years and he lives about 1000 miles away! He found me on facebook and we immediately hit it off. We are together now and plan on having a future together. He is a wonderful man. My problem is that he doesn't know about my NF1. I had no symptoms in high school, but now I have bumps and some scars where I've had a few tumors removed. My question is when to tell him? Should I tell him now, over the phone or wait until he comes out to visit at the end of this month and tell him in person. Please give me any advice you may have. This is killing me and I'm literally losing sleep over it. Thank you! xo

Tell him when he comes to see you. Then you can show him what it is and explain it to him. If you are meant to be he will understand and be concerned for you. Don't be upset if he tries to fix it -- men always want to fix what they can't control. Don't stress over it and losing sleep isn't helping your depression. Get alot of sleep and be happy that he is coming to see you. He wants to drive 1000 miles to see you!

I can understand what you are thinking and going through since I am newly divorced and have a similar worry as to how to let someone know why I look the way I look.
But in your case this guy is already interested in you and so I think once you meet again you can explain to him what its all about. don't anticipate what he will think, that is why I say wait until you meet him again and see what he says.

i find myself in a similar predicament. i've been dating a lovely man for about 6 months now and things are going so well. i'm not sure about how/when to bring up the NF1. I'm nervous about his reaction. I have decided I probably won't have children because of it, and so these are obviously big conversations to have!! I keep hoping the conversation will happen naturally, but I just don't know if it's possible.

it can be hard to tell the one your in love with what you have i had a hard time telling my fiancee what i had and he said no matter what your still beautiful in my eyes how i went about it is i said theres something i gotta tell you and i hope after i tell you/or show you you wont run for the hills.... and he dident he said thats the way god made you and he has a purpose for you and thats why he put me in your life that was like 2 yrs ago and were still going strong.......
