Narcolepsy Support Group
A sleep disorder (somnipathy) is a disorder in the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders can interfere with mental and emotional function. If you are having trouble falling asleep or having some other kind of sleep disturbance, this group is for you.
I first started exhibiting N when I was 18 months old when I had a series of C attacks. Unfortunately, I was not diagnosed until I was 24.
So, as a child and teen with N, I did not sweat a whole lot. But around the same time I was diagnosed with N I was also diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and after that had started, I started to sweat a lot. The Hashimoto's was new since my thyroid function was fine a year prior.
Interestingly, The thyroid is controlled by the Hypothalamus, the area of the brain that is affected by N. Many people who have N also have a thyroid disorder.
I would suggest getting your thyroid levels checked out.
I`ve even thought that I`d peed myself because the water is running down my legs. I get this every night, even if I am cold. I don`t know the answer, the doc can`t help so I just put up with it. My husband says he knows when I`m ill because my sweat smells `different` even though I shower twice a day. I`m so sorry for you, I have terrible dreams and sleep paralysis, the `old hag syndrome` but you`re not alone although it may feel like it sometimes, all the best.
I get this weird pins and needles feelings and a wondering itch as well, like I'm being poked with a needle here and there all over my body. After a shower it bugs me so bad I want to scream! so I will try to deal with the sweat, and take all my meds as directed. what do you think of the itch?
Thanks again!
I think it's called hyperaesthesia.
