Narcolepsy Support Group
A sleep disorder (somnipathy) is a disorder in the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders can interfere with mental and emotional function. If you are having trouble falling asleep or having some other kind of sleep disturbance, this group is for you.
And therein lies the rub with today's medicine who supports practices that are designed to generate capitalism for medicine. Lost is the humanity once known in America. I get turned away from more appointments than I'm actually treated. I'm not asking for miracles, but like you the doses that are required to wake me up and to keep me awake are considered high. But wait, not too high for the patient, but too high from the governments view and restrictions of doctors to prescribe. Yes, the government has been calling the shots for about a decade now. I am one less doses now than when I started medication, but it is almost impossible to get scripts today.
You are so young. I was in my 40's when diagnosed, now I am 66. Like I said, my heart breaks for you because I just cannot offer you any suggestions. I have jumped through hoops to comply with alleopathic medical protocols and not ONE treatment option has benefitted my health. It is only going to get harder and harder for patients to get triple scripts in coming times. I might only suggest that you try to stock up on your meds so that you have a backup supply in case a doctor drops you suddenly. Do not stop your stimulants suddenly or your brain could rebel. I take vacations but if I am without scripts for more than five days I become catatonic, it is scary.
We have entered into an era where patients will continue to live with their diseases, but living a crippled lifestyle. I've been on narcotic medications for twenty years. Despite the public prejudice against strong meds, the narcotic drugs have given me the least side effects than any of the newer pharmaceutical drugs. But that is the ones doctors push, they don't want the governement monitoring their prescribing practices, and I guess I can't blame then. But it is the patient that suffers. We are going to begin seeing more deaths in coming years because people will just give up, when it becomes too hard to get treatment.
I am sorry and I wish you only the very best.
