Narcolepsy Support Group
A sleep disorder (somnipathy) is a disorder in the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders can interfere with mental and emotional function. If you are having trouble falling asleep or having some other kind of sleep disturbance, this group is for you.
Best of luck, and hopefully you can get some answers!
Everyones N is totally different just like Tearose said. But we tend to need more sleep or rest than everyone else and even with that are often still walking zombies lol.
Are you going to have a sleep study done?
I used to think I was the clumsiest person ever falling over anything and nothing and taking ages to get back up. I didn't even tell my dr half the stuff that was going on with me because I thought everyone slept like i did and had weird hallucinations that they knew weren't real but couldn't move etc. Turns out they don't.
Definately read up on here and ask as many questions as you want. Be really honest with your Drs and let them know what is going on even if you think its really trivial like pins n needles in your hands (which happens to several of us and seems to be mild cataplexy). This is a very weird illness and the most you can do is learn about it and yourself and keep in contact with other people like us with Narcolepsy who can share the wild journey with you.
good luck
I told my DR about how I laughed, and I hit the ground and my face felt funny and blah blah blah, they dismissed it until they thought I was epileptic.
I'm not a DR, but you could be experiencing cataplexy attacks. Have you noticed if theres certain triggers? YOu should keep a log of how often it happens. I find that I forget everything now, not sure why, but writing it down helps.
